New Home, Hope-fully

We found a house! And our offer was accepted. We ended up paying listing price and no closing costs covered by the seller because it's a builder. The house is new construction, should be completed by July 15. We can't move in though until our house closes on the 26th and the funds become available. We are so excited and glad that our offer on the other house didn't go through.

It's three bedroom, two and half-bath, with two lofts that we can use as a family/TV room and an office/craft room. It's 2000 sq ft but the bedrooms are probably the same size as our current home. And the master bath only has a shower and no room to ever put a tub. Oh well. Also it's only 0.09 acres, so a little smaller than we currently have. And a corner lot, which will be more private in the subdivision because less houses right next to it, but less area we can fence. I really wanted a big backyard but we found in our price range, at least right now on the market, it's either a horrible house on a slightly larger lot, or a nice house with no yard. We will make it a paradise as much as we can.

The only real downside is it's on the northeast side of town very near my rival high school. ;)

The neighborhood is still under construction, so it may be loud for a while as they build new houses. But we got in at a good price. On Hope Drive. Seems fitting.

We are pretty excited about it! It'll be a great house for us to grow into. But it's all contingent on our house selling. We have a buyer but he's been making new demands lately and I think we are at our last straw. We had to drop the listing price even more after the inspection results came back, not because they were necessarily bad but apparently some things were a "deal breaker" for this kid. I'm bummed because I found out he's a 21-year-old single guy who is planning to have roommates and then eventually rent out maybe. I feel like it will get destroyed. But I just have to not care anymore and move on.

Our new house is worth it. We will actually end up being even every month from where we are now after paying off student loan debt :) And we will have a beautiful house who we are the only ones to ever lived in and got to pick out together!
