Ohhh what a rough week. I ended up being sick all last weekend, did nothing but lie around miserable and tired and bored with an aching throat and never-ending nose blowing. And for the second time in a week, I knocked over my glass of water on my nightstand in the middle of the night. Bless Matt, the first time he got up and cleaned up all the water and the broken glass while I lied in bed and moaned about how miserable I was. Then I got smarter and used plastic but still managed to spill it all over the floor while reaching for tissues. UGHHHH I hate being sick. Matt's been really worried about me but there's not much anyone can do assuming it's a cold virus (which it likely is); I just have to drink a lot of water and pass it out. I've already gotten the flu shot weeks ago; he's also been concerned because of reports of the flu spreading. Apparently I'm much more susceptible to illness being pregnant, being that my immune system is compromised while my body spends most of its energy building a baby. Ugh, one of the worst parts honestly is the cold mixed with heartburn. Just miserable.
We are now to 31 weeks:
This week, baby measures over 16 inches long. He weighs about 3.3 pounds (like four navel oranges)
and is heading into a growth spurt. He can turn his head from side to
side, and his arms, legs, and body are beginning to plump out as needed
fat accumulates underneath his skin. He's probably moving a lot, too, including during the night. All this moving is a sign that baby is
active and healthy.

Today, we were supposed to take a childbirth class but it'd been a popular one and they called to ask if we'd be willing to postpone til Feb. Since I've been sick anyhow, and I'd feel bad if people have earlier due dates than us and want to take it now, AND (how inconsiderate of me) there were playoff games on today, we rescheduled. Dang. I was looking forward to it :( Instead we spent the day sleeping in, then taking a nap after breakfast, then watching football.
A plus though, I made a decent (tasting) turkey pot pie. I shortcut and used pre-made pie crust. Unfortunately SOMEone still has my pie pan ;) so I improvised with some small rectangular glass pans. It wasn't too sightly to begin with, but then getting it out of the pan was a disaster. On second thought, good thing I didn't have that round pie pan because I have no idea how we'd have gotten that out either. What I needed to do was to bake these in custard pans so they were individual sized. Alas. It tasted good though, and was a good alternative to the 1000 calorie Marie C. pot pies we were eyeing at the store.

I'm starting on one more baby project, a mobile to hang over his crib...
even though I heard this isn't necessary for the first several months
as he won't be able to see it. I saw this cute cloud one on Etsy but I'm not about to pay $50 for something like that! In true me fashion, I said to myself "I can make that!" I think it's the last crafty thing I'll tackle. I already have a lot of fabric leftover from
the quilt I made. I started with making the cloud...
Wow, it was a really boring week being sick... I can't think of anything else that happened. Matt's trying to avoid getting what I have... he's struggling... Yeh, I gotta nothing else.
