8 Months Already?!

Now time seems to be going fast... The two months flew by!

He's eight months!! He's an active crawling, assisted standing eating machine. He's now starting to try eggs, beans, and looks like we can start yogurt and cheese. He just got a flu shot this week and only had one little whail then stopped just as quickly.

Zoey hitched a ride

Peek!!

I tried to recreate two adorable pics of he and Ellie together, one around a few wks and the other around 4 months. They wouldn't have it.

We'll work on waving and clapping next!

He loves to stand up and slap things.

This is his fave sound to make: "brrrrrrdddddtthh"

He's still only saying "bah bah" and I'm having trouble telling if this literally is "bottle" or if his phase now for food and/or also binky. He's said "hiiii," "dada" and "mama," but didn't seem obviously intentional. Well.... ok he sometimes says "mamamamama" when he's awake in the night and standing up in his crib. Heartbreaking, how can I NOT go in there?!

I'm so impressed by how easy going and friendly he is. He's so curious and adventurous. We wish he was a bit more cuddly; he only cuddles so far when he's really sleepy then he'll lay his head on our shoulders or chest. Otherwise it's all we can do to get a kiss. He loves to be carried around though.

He likes to eat and I haven't found much he doesn't like; he wants to try our food usually. He loves rice crackers, I think because he can feed himself.

He's trying to climb things now. Good thing we have a lot of baby gates.

He's just a joy. I used to find it irritating when others posted a lot of pictures of their babies; now I am by far the worst I know! I try to justify that Matt's family lives so far away. Really it's that Carsen is so friggin adorable I can't stand it!! Now I understand parents thinking their child is a little prince. There's almost nothing we wouldn't do for him. It's amazing. It's hard sometimes, it's tiring, it's so much servitude of another lil being, so much selflessness required. But the amazing thing is that you don't care, you WANT to be selfless, you want to give this little person every single thing you can- the food before you eat, the clothes off your back if need be, your very breath. I couldn't be in this world now without him in it. That kind of love is so sweet and tender and overwhelming and surprising and all-encompassing. He's such a blessing.
