He was really good! Apparently he was a bit apprehensive swimming in the hotel's pool, and he didn't sleep as well as at home, but overall he was very easy going, as usual. And he was so social. He was great with everyone, except this one guy, who is someone who works in our department but I've never met; he didn't take to that guy and let out a big cry.
He even fell asleep in my mom's arms at a noisy restaurant while we all ate. Everyone loved him and it was fun to show him off. I felt more stressed on the trip though, worrying that C might be giving my mom trouble or she'd be frustrated, or that my bosses would be annoyed that I was a little distracted.

At least I got to cuddle more at night :)
Actually the only real issue, which I thought was funny, was that we went to Davids Bridal to look for a dress for my mom to wear to my brother's wedding. C was really into all the mirrors everywhere. He was sleepy though so irritable. He kept fussing as she tried on dresses. Luckily we were almost the only customers and the gal helping us was pregnant. She said their store was moving that week to a new location. Anyhow I let C down to crawl around, but he mostly wanted to stand up against the mirrors and slap and lick them. Then he was irpy so he kept spitting up. Like 5 times. BIG spit ups of formula. I didn't have anything to clean it up so I just tried to rub the spit up (into the carpet) with a burp rag. Luckily my mom did find a dress!
After my work was done, we quickly visited my friend Katie and her newborn Eva (I can't believe how tiny she was!!). Then we went to Yachats where my aunt Kathy and her husband Jeff rented a beach house for the weekend.
C wasn't excited about his cap but it was so cute, so Life Aquatic.

My uncle Neil was so sweet with Carsen. I didn't know he loves babies.

We did miss Matt on this first beach trip.
He LOVED the sand.
He kept trying to lie face down, or maybe lick?, the sand.

He's a sand eater like his mama was as a beach baby.

I could've played in the sand with him forever.

I love lil sandy toes.
He had sand everywhere!! The next beautiful pics are my talented uncles' photos taken from J&K's blog.

And he crashed hard... but by our 4th night, or maybe it was the full moon, or the call of the ocean, or the sand he ate, he did NOT sleep well. He was up fussy and squirmy from about 11p-1am. Ugh.
Sunday we woke up engulfed in fog. Ahh now that's the October coast I expected. Can you see my mom and Carsen walking?
She had a makeshift sling, haha.

And Aunt Kathy
We had a delicious lunch in Lincoln City, though I realized that Carsen, who has previously been excellent while eating out, now is getting very fidgety and bored. I might avoid taking him out for awhile.
We took the long way home (read: very very long) via Portland so that we could see my grandma Janet. She hadn't met Carsen yet nor had my auntie Ann.
